Short version

Your inspections, reports, photos, imported documents and settings stay on your phone. The app has no account and no advertising, and it does not track you. Three optional AI features send some data to our AI service when you use them, and only after you agree. Purchases go through Apple and RevenueCat.

What stays on your device

Inspection reports, photos and markups, project data, imported WPS and specification files, report profile (company, inspector, logo, signature) and settings are stored on your phone. We cannot see them. A backup file you create is yours; where you save it is up to you.

Optional AI features (off until you agree)

The AI service runs on Cloudflare Workers AI. You agree separately in the app, and you can switch the features off in Settings at any time.

• Document reading: the text of the relevant pages of a PDF you import is sent for a second reading. No PDF file, no images.
• Photo check: each photo you ask the AI to check is sent as a reduced copy (at most 1024 px), together with the joint type and the app language. No names, report data or location. Location and other metadata are removed from the copy.
• Ask VT: your question, a few matching knowledge-base entries and a short summary of the open inspection (standard, level, joint, thickness, findings and their verdicts; no names, report numbers, photos or locations).

The service does not store the content it receives (text, photos, questions or answers) and does not use it to train models. It is processed to produce the answer and then discarded. The AI can be wrong; its output is advisory only.

What the AI service keeps

To limit abuse, the service sees your IP address and a random client ID that the app created on your phone (it is not tied to your name, email or Apple account, but it identifies your installation, so the App Store privacy label declares it as a Device ID linked to you). It keeps request counters under these for 24 hours. The IP address is stored in those counters only as a salted one-way hash, never as the address. No content is kept.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase information (purchase history). We do not receive your payment details.

What we do not do

No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling of data, no analytics profile of you.

Your choices

You can switch each AI feature off in Settings, delete reports and photos in the app, or delete the app to remove everything stored on the phone. The counters at the AI service expire on their own after 24 hours. Questions or requests: team@varyosweld.com.
